This is a specific page for the OLMEC CUP the inter league Cup of OLMEC.

Outline

  • To be staged once a calendar year in May
  • Games will be played using Al Sellers 'Olmec software' & current MSWL rules (unless stated otherwise below)
  • The Winner of the OLMEC CUP will receive the KUDOS of being the OLMEC CHAMPION listed in Leagues Hall of Fame

A Survey of All leagues managers will be taken after each OLMEC CUP to gauge opinions on Rules etc.

Commissioner reserves the right to review & revise rules each April before competition commences

How are Clubs Choosen

Each league should be represented by their most recent Div 1 Champion; Division 2 Champion + 2 Cup Winners
SFLSL will nominate first 4 clubs, then MSWL & then SESL. If selection process is compromised for any reason
That leagues Commissioner will make substitution at his disgression.

  • No Manager may be represented more than once

Setup

There will be a separate database created for the 12 competing teams.
Each Team will have a Roster of 19 players chosen by their manager from their respective League Squad
They will take with them their respective team features

  • Skill Levels of players
    • But all EL will be reset to 10 & DP to 0
  • OTF
  • Morale to 0.500

Rules

Everything will follow normal Olmec rules

Except there will be no

  • MVP bonuses
  • No Finance involved (no gate money etc)
  • There will be no Coaching or Training in matches.
  • No Auctions
  • No Trading
  • Hiring apprentices or Retirements
  • No Blow Out Penalties
  • Ref's have no HomeField Status

OLMEC CUP Referee

The OLMEC CUP Referee database will be used.
As All matches are played on neutral grounds Homefield is not a factor

  • 6 group games each round of group stages (1 game each )
  • 4 Qtr finals + 2 semis (1 game each)
  • Final to be refereed by Poll of 12 Olmec Cup teams teams prior to semis


Game Day

Games played on Mondays & Fridays (Deadline 21.00 GMT )

Format

Every match will be played in front of a capacity crowd of 50,000 fans for flavour, remember no Gate Receipts.

  • The Competition will consist of a Group Stage of two groups drawn randomly from the 3 Leagues without seeding.
  • Teams will be drawn into 2 groups of 6 teams.
  • Each team will play 5 games on a neutral ground.
  • The top 4 from each group will advance to the knockout stage.

Group Stages

  • Consists of 2 groups (A & B) of 6 teams randomly drawn.
  • Each team plays one game against the other teams in their group.
    • Games in these groups are played at Neutral venue.

<p> The top FOUR teams in each group qualify for the knockout stages played after the League season is completed.

Standings

Clubs earn 3 Pts per win and 1 Pt per draw.
Clubs with equal Pts shall have that tie broken using the following criteria (in order):

  1. Goal Differential
  2. Total Goals Scored
  3. Head To Head Record
  4. Most Goals Scored in Head To Head Play
  5. Games Won
  6. Goals scored @ home
  7. Home matches Won
  8. Leading Goal scorer
  9. Flip of a coin

Knockout Stages

There will be a random draw after the group stage for the quarter final pairings.
And again another random draw for the Semi Final

Awards

There is none, you compete for GLORY and Kudos

Gates

No gate receipts will be awarded

Morale Bonus

There will be no morale bonus applied back to the league.
