PLAYER CHOICES / MULTIPLE PLAYER INVOLVEMENT

1. After CATCH

Unmodified

  • RUN: 50% chance
  • PASS: 50% chance
  • LONG KICK: 0% chance
  • SHORT KICK: 0% chance
  • Drop Goal: 0% chance

Modifiers

  • Momentum: add the player’s current momentum to RUN and subtract from PASS (a -5 Momentum has the effect of reducing RUN and increasing PASS.
  • If PCE is higher than HND: add the difference to RUN and subtract from PASS.  Do the reverse if HND is higher than PCE
  • If STR is higher than HND: add the difference to RUN and subtract from PASS.  Do the reverse if HND is higher than STR
  • Within 5m of own try line and KCK > 50: +10 to Long Kick, -5 to RUN, -5 to PASS
  • Within 30m of opponent’s try line, less than 30secs on the clock, 3pt score matters and KCK > 50: +10 to Drop Goal, -5 to RUN, -5 to PASS
  • If the defenders are playing Blitz Defence and KCK > 50: +10 to Short Kick, -5 to RUN, -5 to PASS


2. After PENALTY (and FREE KICK)

Unmodified

  • Tap and Go: 67%
  • Scrum: 33%
  • Kick for touch: 0%
  • Kick for goal: 0%

Modifiers (do not apply to FREE KICK)

  • Within 5m of your own try line and KCK > 50: +30 to Kick for touch, -15 to Tap and Go, -15 to Scrum
  • Within your own 22m line and KCK > 50: +10 to Kick for touch, -5 to Tap and Go, -5 to Scrum
  • Within 30m of opponent’s try line, less than 30secs on the clock, 3pt score matters and KCK > 50: +10 to Kick for goal, -5 to Tap and Go, -5 to SCRUM


3. Multiple Player Involvement

There are a number of actions (PASS, SCRUM, LINE OUT, RUCK) where more than one player from a team is involved and they all contribute to the EGP test.  In these circumstances, I’d suggest each player takes the test and then the outcome is the lowest achieved by any player involved.

Eg - Pass involves the HND of the thrower and the receiver.  If either of them roll a Poor outcome then the Pass overall is poor.

Eg - The Line Out involves the STR of the two Props and the JMP of the Hooker.  If any of them fail to do their job (i.e. roll Poor) then the unit itself will not function and the overall outcome is Poor.
