Good evening, good evening. The Tax Man has reviewed the ledgers from Session 8 of Season 42, sharpened his pencil, and — oh yes — found some names. First through the door: Bridgwater Town, waddling in with a frankly obscene 5,883k in the vault. That placed them squarely in the 30% bracket, and the Tax Man does not do sentiment. A clean 1,765k has been removed from their person. They are left with 4,118k, which is still comfortable, and yet somehow feels like a lesson. Good. It should.
Not far behind, blinking nervously in the doorway, came Burton Albion FC — 3,599k, which is just 99k above the threshold. Just. Ninety-nine. If they were hoping that proximity to the line might earn them mercy, they were hoping in the wrong office. The 10% bracket collected its 360k without ceremony, leaving Burton with 3,239k and presumably a new appreciation for the number 3,499. Two teams taxed, two teams educated. The Tax Man is satisfied.
As always, the message to the rest of the league is simple: accumulate wisely, spend strategically, and perhaps — perhaps — we need not meet again. But the Tax Man has been doing this long enough to know we will. Same time next season, ladies and gentlemen. He'll be waiting.

...I've worked with the Claude AI to put in a routine to do the Tax Man stuff. It will probably not work, but on the off chance it does I wanted you all to be ready...and excited for Saturday, June 27th.
Eduard might be excited...but mostly he'll just be looking forward to telling me "Al, it didn't work...". 😎
