🅾 PREDICTION: ILK 3 – 4 CHA   (CHA to win)
🏠 Home: Ilkeston Town FC (+9 🏭 Groundsman) — DF:1 MF:2 FW:6
⚔️ KEY BATTLE: Forward line is the decisive battleground — Ilkeston (84) massively outgun Chasetown's defence (33), giving the hosts a commanding edge in attack despite the visitors' superior midfield.
ONES TO WATCH: Tobias Ødegård (GK, TL:18) — ILK | Daniel Bell (GK, TL:18) — CHA
🎯 VERDICT: Chasetown FC are predicted to edge a thriller 4-3 despite Ilkeston's dominant forward line of 84, with Chasetown's sweeper (SW:13) and superior midfield (45 vs 34) providing the structural backbone to absorb pressure and hit on the counter. The home advantage only partially closes the gap, as Chasetown's engine room, led by Luciano Renteria, controls the tempo and creates enough chances to outscore the hosts. Renteria is the man to watch — his midfield influence could prove the difference in what promises to be a high-scoring, open contest.
MARVIN'S TAKE
ILK 3 - 4 CHA
Ilkeston have more attacking intent but their defensive line looks worryingly porous, and Chasetown's midfield, anchored by Luciano Renteria, will simply walk through the gaps with a quiet, methodical inevitability that I find personally relatable. The home advantage adds a meagre nine points of comfort, which is roughly how I feel about my own continued existence — technically present, achieving very little. Chasetown will nick this, and everyone involved will pretend it meant something.
AXEL'S TAKE
ILK 3 - 4 CHA
Ilkeston have the home crowd behind them but that backline looks like it's held together with tape and prayers — Chasetown's forward line is going to tear through it like a wrecking ball. Luciano Renteria running the midfield engine room could be the difference here, supplying Morgan Lindsay with the ammunition to punish every defensive lapse. I'm calling the away side to pull off a thunderous upset on Ilkeston's own turf.

Match Notes
Olmec Steve versus Obi-Wan, the man who wins everyone's hearts and almost nobody's matches. A rivalry built on mutual respect and, apparently, a shared indifference to collecting wins.

I’ve bit been looking forward to this match
Roger (Chasetown FC) 06/27 - 9:45 PM

Marvin got the "mutual respect" right at least. A win here would make the last weekend interesting but I have to coach youth and try and secure promotion.
Steve (Ilkeston Town FC) 06/28 - 12:52 PM
Good luck to you too, Roger, but I think you have this.
