🅾 PREDICTION: FRA 1 – 0 SEN   (FRA to win)
🏦 Neutral venue
⚔️ KEY BATTLE: Defence is the decisive area — France's backline (DF:58) vastly outmuscles Senegal's forward threat (FW:44), giving Les Bleus a commanding defensive edge.
ONES TO WATCH: Kylian Mbappé (FW, TL:17) — FRA | Sadio Mané (FW, TL:16) — SEN
🎯 VERDICT: France should claim a tight but controlled victory in what promises to be a disciplined tactical contest. Their defensive solidity, anchored by Dayot Upamecano, shuts down Senegal's attacking options, while a significant attack advantage of 15 to 4 reflects France's dominance in pressure and possession. Kylian MbappĂ©, even in a low-scoring affair, carries the match-winning quality to produce that single decisive moment.

SĂłCRATES'S TAKE

I stopped by the Guggenheim yesterday and stood for a long time before a Kandinsky — all that controlled chaos, colour bleeding into purpose — and tonight, watching France dissect Senegal, I expect something similarly composed yet ruthless. Mbappé needs only one moment of inspiration, and in a neutral arena where Senegal cannot lean on a crowd to carry them through the difficult spells, their defensive structure around Koulibaly will be tested by the relentless movement France orchestrate in the final third. Maignan will be largely a spectator, but when called upon — as Mané will surely demand — he is the kind of goalkeeper who makes the difficult look inevitable.

JURGEN'S TAKE

France's superiority in the defensive and forward zones tells the full story here — Koundé and Upamecano form a wall that Mané and Jackson simply cannot find a way through, and with Mbappé needing just one moment of brilliance to unlock a Senegalese backline that looks exposed on the flanks, *les Bleus* have the quality to grind this out. Senegal's midfield engine — and Sarr has the energy to make a nuisance of himself — won't generate enough clean possession to trouble Maignan, who I expect to be relatively untroubled but utterly reliable when called upon. I tried my hand at a New Jersey crumb bun this week at MetLife, and much like Senegal's attack, I had the right ingredients but couldn't quite pull it all together in the end.

Match Notes
Time to prove all these pundits wrong.
Steve (Senegal) 06/10 - 11:30 AM
This is a match where Senegal has a chance. My players have spent more time discussing their bonuses, tickets for their families, and their wives than preparing for the game. And we're not even safe from a strike!
Antoine (France) 06/15 - 3:17 PM
Just to be fair to Steve and Antoine, the assignment of coaches for this fixture was totally rigged...
Allan (Mexico) 06/15 - 9:53 PM
I know. I realized it myself. I wanted to go to the beach, stretch out on the sand, and enjoy the company of pretty girls! Instead, I was told: "You're going to the World Cup.
Antoine (France) 06/16 - 4:20 PM
I can testify as a witness that Al is telling the truth (I even helped a little).
