WGM Cup Group Play

Apparently this is a competition CB doesn't understand, so I'll take that as feedback and do a video on this competition this week.

One session to go on this with FOUR groups coming down to the top two teams at 2-0 with a winner take all for the Group title (and a guaranteed Top 8 seed and home match in the round of 32).

Rankings

NET // Josh and Mendon have started off hot at 5-1!  The Mushrooms are at the #2 spot in the NET rankings followed by New Orleans, St. Charles, and Baton Rouge all tied at #3.

ELO // Over in the ELO rankings, the Tomatoes maintain their #1 spot with the Bananas at #2, Schenectady at #4 and Santa Clara at #5.

Conferences

Vick's Shrimps lead the PAC 8 at 3-1 while Quincy leads the Big 8 at 4-0.

Baton Rouge and New Orleans are tied at 3-1 in the SEC with Schenectady already getting a stranglehold on the Big East at 4-0.

Battle of the McIntosh's

Micki beat Phil in 3 to put the Raccoons in the lead with 5 wins and 4 losses against Big Phil's Chameleons.  

No doubt Phil has already taken away her allowance for the week...

Maximo

To this point, the only 5-star setter signed (with a +2 SET) was Iker Zubizarreta in Season 2.  He has been a rock for the Bananas and is in his final season.

In session 3 teams have a chance to sign another all-star just like him: Maximo Fernandez (5-star Max + 2 SET Setter).  

Miss Micki McIntosh is in the driver's seat and has the most RPs to facilitate this signing.  Will she go all out to get the player or will other teams put in some big RP numbers to sign him?

A Season On The Brink... (or maybe just another session)

There's been some back and forth between coaches on the signing of 5-star OH (Max +1 RCV) Michael Brink.

If they want to spend their bank of RPs, this is a Roger vs. Steve battle with 1781 to 1716 RPs respectively.  Or will other coaches put in enough Recruiting Points if Roger and Steve don't want to max out.  Time will tell...

Other Recruiting Notes

Beyond the Top 2 there are plenty of recruits where 2-3 teams will be competing so it should be an interesting session 3.  

Finally, which session do you think Boston Rob will start recruiting?  My guess is session 10...
