How Many Setters (Session 9)
Posted by Vick Hall on Thursday, Apr. 13th, 2023 at 6:28 PM

does it take to fill a Gargoyle team?

They do seem to like acquiring them, but as I found they are not the best players to have multiples of. A few seasons back I used my free pick up to get a setter thinking that if these are the most expensive players then get a free one. This was bad thinking as i think (and I may be wrong) it really only makes sense to sign extra MB's and OH's  as the extras in these positions can always be used in those four match sessions when there is probably one game you don't really care about!

The Gargoyles already have four setters (admittedly none are spectacular) but I don't think getting 5 or 6 on the roster after this season is going to help!

Duffy might have been a good option but.....

So, the way I think about it (and take this with a grain of salt because I haven't won jack-squat yet in this league).. is that you generally have between 2-4 games per session, but only start 1 player at L, S, and RS. So, if you have 2 good players at those positions, you can rotate them. At OH, and MB, you start 2 players, so you need at least 3 (maybe even 4!) to be able to rotate through those 3 and 4 game sessions. I'm trying to use that data to forumulate a winning recruiting strategy (that I botched this session).
