A great session (Session 5)
Posted by Steve Turner on Sunday, Dec. 19th, 2021 at 9:19 PM

Four game sessions are always difficult when you have serious weknesses as we have. Our third best OH and MB players are both C rated. You need to be lucky to win all four games, either lucky in a game (for example St Charles vs Schenectady) or lucky that your 3rd string line-up happens to face their 3rd string (for example Burlington at St Charles).  So with an away game at a strong Carlsbad it was easy to pick that as a game to lose. Luckily for us they brought T7 so we had little chance anyway.

I wanted to win the other three games, two home games and the TMVL Cup. Two of these were against Antioch and I didn't trust Rob to throw the Conference game. So although I didn't bring my A team I did play Smalls here and in the other two using 8 CP to keep his Fit up. Antioch didn't try too hard but somehow took a close first set. Then we tore them apart.

For Baton Rouge it certainly wasn't T7 but they came with even less concentrating themselves on their more important game. Smalls and Torres from T7 with one of my better middle blockers and libero and setter similar anayway iy turned into an easy win.

Then the biggest game, the TMVL Cup against Antioch. Everyone played well and it was a close match not reflected in the 3-0 result. Our rewarsd is a game against Quincy. Looking forward to that.

Crabs get two two W's versus Rob who quickly forgot Steve's label of Rob as the "easiest" team of the session back in session 1.

Or maybe Rob just misinterpreted Steve's words.   Who can tell?

Crabs-Squirrels looks like a WGM Cup Dogfight on Christmas Day  #8 Columbia hosting #9 Schenectady!
