Olmec love Tomatoes (Session 8)
Posted by Steve Turner on Thursday, May. 26th, 2022 at 9:50 AM

Another 3 and 0 session means that so far we have only lost two matches all season. Both of those were at home playing T7 and both were close on paper. The Scenectady loss was harder as we were 5 points a man better but I looked at some of my other games and we've won plenty when the weaker team. Ames and the Schenectady rematch last week are two examples where we were significantly weaker.

Losing close games is like complaing on an incorrect guess on a coin toss.

Most of the games we probably deserved to win as we happened to play the new teams getting into it. Many seemed to be lucky, whether it's Olmec with nice numbers or us just being lucky having the right team on court on the day. I do look at a lot of things before finalising my lineups and serve order - constantly tweaking here and there.

5 more wins from at least 12 games and we better last season. We have 3 more away games and it would be nice to go undefeated there.

We have a tough game on Saturdat against Quincy and I think it's Baton Rouge in the TMVL Cup the week after. Both will be toin coss games I feel.

I'm also looking at XP so will be putting out some weaker teams now. And next season will be tougher as we recruit awfully.

Olmec really does love those Crazy Tomatoes, but Steve also has an excellent team so that factors in probably more than the Olmec Love!  :-)

How do you only lose 3 games?? It's fear, that's what it is. They see the angry fruit and play the reserves.....

...oh and there we go again with Mr Sellers 'I love Steve and his Tomatoes.......oh and make sure you play T7 against the Bulldogs'

Ok so he didn't use those words exactly but I could hear the thoughts.

(That's 2 to me for hijacked posts. Boom!)
