So here is my first question!
Posted by Mike Parnaby on Sunday, Dec. 18th, 2011 at 8:42 PM

Giving things away maybe here, but anyway!

I have just done some orders and although I have no home games this session, I did not notice any way to use PFD, add GPP's or play any hardness on the automated orders sheet. Have I missed something here or not?

I assume that I am able to go bach into the orders and make corrections/amendments right up to the deadline date.

Mike

To input PFD points, add GPP's etc you just need to over-type the zero's you see at the bottom of the bit where you select your players - so if you wanted to use 3 hardness on DF, just over type the '0' with a 3 on the line where it says hardness under DF. Hope that makes sense :)

Yeah, as far as I'm aware you can alter your orders as often as you like before the deadline - just need to save them each time

Many thanks Craig, that worked!

So you are in York mate? I am just up the road in Guisborough. Glad to see the North of England represented well in this game!

Mike Parnaby on Sunday, Dec. 18th, 2011 at 10:51 PM

Haha - no mate, I'm in Hornsea now (East Riding of Yorkshire). From Leeds originally but lived in York for about 8 years and have watched a few games at (what was then) Bootham Crescent.

Yorkshireman through and through - and the accusations that we're all tight are completely true :)

Are you in the Guisborough near Middlesbrough...or somewhere out that way anyway...

Craig Bucknall on Monday, Dec. 19th, 2011 at 3:46 PM

Yes, that's the one. Lived within 8 miles of Guisborough all my life, even born there!

When I was born, Guisborough was in Yorkshire. Although it is now in Cleveland, I have always thought of myself as a Yorkie rather than a Smoggie (people from Teesside!)

Mike Parnaby on Tuesday, Dec. 20th, 2011 at 3:38 PM

Good man :)

Went to Ayresome Park once - not the nicest ground I've ever been to (but neither is Elland Road for the visitors I suppose)  - and went out with a lass from Sunderland for a bit so have spent a reasonable amount of time up there - I can understand the smoggie name, there's certainly no shortage of industry up there :)

Craig Bucknall on Wednesday, Dec. 21st, 2011 at 3:32 PM

The old Ayresome Park was a dump, and not been to the Riverside. Unlikely I ever will as I am not a Boro fan and the chances of Boro playing Partick Thistle in a European Competition seem a little remote!

Mike Parnaby on Friday, Dec. 23rd, 2011 at 12:39 PM

Mike, what's the connection with Partick Thistle?

Ellis Simpson on Saturday, Dec. 24th, 2011 at 6:46 PM

Well, when I was 12 I supported Newcastle United for my sins. About that time I discovered Subbuteo and all my mates were playing with the top teams like Liverpool, Newcastle, Arsenal etc. I wanted a different team or kit so looked at the Subbuteo catalogue and saw the red and yellow stripes. Thought, "thats the team for me", and it has been ever since. Here I am 35 years later, still playing Subbuteo (current England Champion at over 45 age group and 5th overall in England), and still using Partick Thistle teams to this day! It naturally followed that I looked out for Partick results on TV and slowly they have become my real life team to follow!

Mike Parnaby on Wednesday, Dec. 28th, 2011 at 4:43 PM

Subbuteo, used to play while I was younger, just googled Mike and found this video. Great Mike!

Mike, the mention of Subbuteo brings back many happy memories. My favorite team strip was Ajax. With me in charge, however, they were poor!

Ellis Simpson on Wednesday, Dec. 28th, 2011 at 7:03 PM

Rene, well found!

I lost that game again Phil Redman but took revenge in the National League (our National Championships), a short while later.

Mike Parnaby on Thursday, Dec. 29th, 2011 at 3:55 PM

Ah Subbuteo.  Used to play that a lot.  Even tried to get Jake into it, but it doesn't seem quite the same these days.  Still got a slightly warped Subbuteo Express that I really should get out and use...
