Poll - Coach of the Year: Season 1
Posted by Al Sellers on Tuesday, Jan. 17th, 2012 at 11:39 PM

Here's the poll.  Please vote for coach of the year for season 1.

Readers Comments

Ian - Very well deserved mate.. an awesome performance but well done to Simon and Vick for equally good performances.... and you were my close 2nd and 3rd choice..

Graham Wilkes on Tuesday, Jan. 17th, 2012 at 11:56 PM

I did vote for myself cause I would love to be runner up ;-) but Ian did have the best results this year.
Simon Bijker on Tuesday, Jan. 17th, 2012 at 11:57 PM

There's no choice this season.

Rob Peterson on Tuesday, Jan. 17th, 2012 at 11:58 PM

Ian but only because my name wasnt listed. Al probably just forgot.

Graham McDermott on Wednesday, Jan. 18th, 2012 at 2:15 AM

Is this a trick question?  NEXT!

Phil McIntosh on Wednesday, Jan. 18th, 2012 at 5:32 AM

This is a lopsided poll.  Are we sure everyone understood the question?

Phil McIntosh on Wednesday, Jan. 18th, 2012 at 7:02 AM

Ian all the way, but it would be nice also next time to have smaller divisional awards maybe?

Mike Parnaby on Wednesday, Jan. 18th, 2012 at 11:22 AM

Ian, well done! But for you there is only way next season.DOWN!!! If I were you, I should stop, there is no way you will do this again next season

Rene Wilkens on Wednesday, Jan. 18th, 2012 at 12:30 PM

Very true Rene, the thought of retiring did cross my mind but I couldn't do it. :)

I'm expecting I'll do what is known as a "Phil McIntosh" here.

MSWL historians will tell you Phil won the inaugural season MSWL Olmec championship in fine fashion, then won nothing for the next 20 seasons (and we're still counting...in season 21 of MSWL Olmec). I don't aim to follow in Phil's footsteps, but am resigned to the fact it will happen :)

Ian Lindsay on Thursday, Jan. 19th, 2012 at 12:18 AM

Sorry for not adding GMcD in the list.  :-)

I love the way Rene is sort of yelling at Ian.

And full marks for Ian coming to grips with the fact that we will NEVER....EVER....let Ian add to the trophy case again.  :-)

Al Sellers on Thursday, Jan. 19th, 2012 at 1:04 AM

Congratulations to Ian on a totally brill first season with Kendal and I suspect actually next season will prove it was not a flash in the pan either.  Halifax are content in knowing we at least knocked Kendal out of the FA Cup and have a better head to head record against all three promoted div 2 teams. sadly apart from our cup success the last two sessions were atrocious in terms of results, but we did learn a few things from those games at least. Namely the side needs a lot of improvement!

Vick Hall on Thursday, Jan. 19th, 2012 at 1:47 AM

ï»Ian gets my vote -well done on the silverware

Rob Lye on Thursday, Jan. 19th, 2012 at 6:12 AM

Hey Al, regarding the trophy cabinet...

I do hope from now on you will be keeping your "team awards: none" jokes to the MSWL-U 1 league?

Those kind of comments are, of course, no longer valid here in MSWL-U 2 :)

Ian Lindsay on Thursday, Jan. 19th, 2012 at 11:36 PM

Its all over, not that we did not know already, but Ian cannot be caught!

A worthy winner

Mike Parnaby on Friday, Jan. 20th, 2012 at 6:54 PM

Thanks for the votes, closing this poll now and Mr. Lindsay will be getting his 25k.

Al Sellers on Monday, Jan. 30th, 2012 at 1:59 AM

What?  No mug?

Phil McIntosh on Monday, Jan. 30th, 2012 at 6:25 AM

I'm sorry I tried to vote but my subconcious just would not allow me to put a tick in Ians box ...I tried I really did ...Sob Sob Sob !
