Congratulations Max!!

This is amazing, what a huge accomplishment!

I'll echo that.

Another year of driving for miles to see your son excel - I can't think of anything better.

And I still see the bio from when Max was manager of Kingstonian in U2. Not sure how old he was (8? 10?) and all he put was "my name is Max and I like volleyball."

Congrats Max, that sounds amazing (I'm going to pretend I understand what being an All American means - best in country, perhaps? If so, that's one hell of an achievement)

New guy Jim here. My son plays alongside Max, so I've been privileged to watch Max's greatness. I will go ahead and say what Allan probably won't -- Max got screwed in the awards last year (named to second-team all-conference when he clearly was a first-teamer). So this year is sweet sweet redemption for Max and very well deserved recognition. All the other coaches in the conference know what a tough competitor Max is and how valuable he is to Augustana. They game plan for him (and usually fail at it because Max is too smart, lol!!). The fact that Max is coming back sets the bar even higher for the team's aspirations next year. I can't wait!

Also, the team gets Allan's photo skillz for one more year... ;)

The one story I will share that I never would have before all this happened was from our game in Green Bay against St. Norbert.

I sometimes watch to see if there's interaction between Max and an opposing coach after the match and I noticed there was in this match.

So I asked Max and he said the St. Norbert coach said this:

"It will be a travesty if you aren't an All-American this season. "

So there were still no expectations of an award like that. But it was nice that Max heard that from another coach.  😎
