 | More Team Page Updates Posted by |
A multitude of Team Page updates today. Everything you see at the top of the page in the tabs is a new update on your team pages. Is Kevin tired of winning yet?
Quick summary:
History - Added a section "for comparison" as I saw this page and thought it might make a good model to borrow from:

Honor Roll - All new. This goes against the "Honor Roll" menu near the top of the site to gather data.
All-Time - This is the "history" page I had in a forum post (probably below) that I decided to integrate here and needs more ideas
All-Players - Now you can see all your players from every season. What I think is interesting is some of the team totals as you scroll through season by season for a given team. Like go to Cinci and click on Season 9 and look at Attack Pct TOTAL when compared to other seasons. .500 is the reason they were 30-7 in Season 9.
Also I don't think I advertised it fully yet but the players page is now upgraded a bit too...

Absolutely love the new pages Al, really great stuff.
A couple of thoughts.
On the career stats pages I think 10 sets is too low a bar for inclusion. My top player for career aces per set only featured in 18 sets over his four year career. That's not far from a game a year. Could you up the bar to 40 or 60 sets so only players who made a real contribution get flagged?
Any chance you can add for each team their own historic first, second and third team based on average ratings over their career? So your best ever Setter, etc would be in your first team regardless of when they played
Finally, how about a TMVL Hall of Fame? Players could be inducted based on average ratings their career or specific stats related to their position, like 1,200 career kills for an OH. Equally, each team (and Conference maybe?) could have their own Hall of Fame, perhaps with lower levels like 1,000 career kills for an OH.
I love the additions, Al! Several BUM-worthy inclusions there with blowouts now visible for all.
Also, no. Kevin is not yet tired of winning. Hoping for another gold shiny thing this coming weekend.
I agree with Roger on the idea of raising minimum sets on the player/career pages. While I get the idea of part-time contributions, if you didn't even average a game every other session (which would be a minimum of 18 sets), I'm not sure that player would be a hall of famer for my team. More like a fluke match or two from a guy who is riding the pine for a reason. Maybe 20 sets for a single-season mark and 40 for career? That would be a strong contributor for one season, or at least a once-per-session player over at least two seasons. No harm in how it is now. Just a preference on where to set the bar.
The idea of all-time teams from past/present rosters would be a fun add too, whenever you're bored and have a few hours to code, of course.
