Too much text to read?  Do you need a video?

Allan Sellers on Wednesday, Jun. 1st, 2022 at 9:30 PM

Great text Al, there is always ways to get our teams stronger.

You asked for improved XP-management. These I found:

I would use XP on libero Emilio Alvarez in setting. Even if he dont use it much its better then wasting it.
Also OH Prescott can top of his BLK.

Setter Solis have been CPed so much he cant use his XP, but with only 1 setter he probably needed it to win games.

Christer Kallin on Thursday, Jun. 2nd, 2022 at 7:03 AM

Yes I'd have not CPd ATK on Solis and there might have been enough to put DEF on Alvarez.

Arguably better to XP DEF rather than SRV.

Video please Al :)

Is it wise to try and play your less experienced and lesser players at some point?

If so, when ? Or should I have already started to do so.

Andy Shaw on Friday, Jun. 3rd, 2022 at 10:47 PM

Alverez still has 11 XP to use and can raise SET using them

OH Prescott and 20 XP to use and can use them on both BLK (14) and SET (5) - you wouldn't normally raise SET but you lose the XP at the end of the season anyway so may as well sitck it on.

Roy Rolsten on Saturday, Jun. 4th, 2022 at 12:21 AM

I've only just read this.....and what a plum I am....I had literally no idea XP's even existed.

I've spunked a load of CP  on players I shouldn't have.

Oops :O

Craig Bucknall on Saturday, Jun. 4th, 2022 at 8:12 AM

Don't worry, Craig. In my first season here I realised about XP a few days before the last session.

I'd read the rules but forgot it all.

Steve Turner on Saturday, Jun. 4th, 2022 at 11:19 AM

I re-read the rules yesterday for the first time since preseason. It's worth doing every now and again to see what you've missed or forgotten.

I was a bit lost with all these different cups going on and was going to Al if he could have a menu for them, but there's a table in the Rules

Roy Rolsten on Sunday, Jun. 5th, 2022 at 11:22 AM

The main thing with the cups is that the TMVL Cup and Shield is not a knockout. We all play 5 matches win or lose.

Steve Turner on Sunday, Jun. 5th, 2022 at 3:00 PM

I did exactly the same Steve...read the rules cover to cover...and have forgotten stuff...

Craig Bucknall on Sunday, Jun. 5th, 2022 at 7:03 PM

This is my 4th season and I thought the Nationals/Holyoke were home/away games so we'd have home court advantage throughout. Its clearly in the rules it's neutral courts.

Steve Turner on Sunday, Jun. 5th, 2022 at 9:37 PM

Catching up on anything I missed though I think Steve has already helped with a lot of answers:

All who commented on my approach:  Yes, you can see mistakes on my part.  I can always do better on BOTH my CP approach AND my  XP selections. Thanks for analyzing that and consider my mistakes as you wrap the season.

Andy:  For players you want to improve and grow, yes, it is a great idea to play them to build up XPs.  I would focus on your freshman in particular to play them and get enough XPs to help them grow.

You have 3 matches this session and at least 2 in session 11 and 2 in session 12.  So at least 7 matches.  That's at least 21 XPs PER Freshman if you play them in all your remaining matches.  Consider if you did that would that take care of it or can you get by with less.  Like with James you need 32 XPs, you have 28 so not much to do there.  But with your OH Bennett, I'd try to CP once for RCV and BLK and ATK and then use a bunch of XPs.  So you'll need to do the math to get enough XPs for 5 or 6 skills (leave off SET in terms of further CP or XP usage; you can do it, but its the least of the 6 skills for OH to use).  Hope that helps.

If you all have other questions please let me know.
