Hi Carl, have moved this topic across to the forum so people can add there own feedback all in one link,
You are right some of the prices are going quite high in united 2 compared to the Origanal version
Kevin Martin will give you some stats I am sure as this really is his area of expertise
I am the Auction Reviewer in OASL one of the other Olmec Leagues and I have always found the 1st 2 and last 2 auctions of each season generally generate more bids of higher values than other auctions.
a great tool to look at is the player value guide tab at the tob of this page, but look at the one on the origanal united page rather than this so you can see the values (there will be more history for you to look at)
The great thing about united is there are stats for just about everything u just need to know where to look.

All I would ever do is pay what I think they are worth to me - if someone outbids me, then so be it. I would never spend to the market if it was over-priced. Just bide my time until the right deal came along, if it doesn't, plough your time and energy into youth until you have a nice tidy sum saved up.
By the way, I am a Yorkshireman which by definition means I am 'tight' :)
