I don't have any rooting interests in the playoff finals this weekend, but I find myself hoping Luton win promotion. Not only is their keeper American, but it would also be cool to see Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu go from the National League to the Premier League with one team. Does anyone else have a team in any of the finals?

sadly i will be rooting for Luton´s opponents in the play -offs as I´ll be cheering on Coventry. I used to libve there back in 1986 when I was working at Warwick University in my first job after graduating, doing reserarch on cowpea mosaic virus. Coventry meanwhile were smashing Spurs that year in the FA Cup and being an Arsenal fan that gave me two reasons to celebrate. Always had a little soft spot for Coventry ever since and did not think they ever had a chance of getting into the Premier League.

As a Watford supporter, I should really be cheering for the Sky Blues. However I think I would prefer The Hatters to go up after the rough treatment they got from the FA a few years back. Also avoids the nasty Derby games next year.
But I am also a Warwick University alumni. 91-94 undergrad. My one trip to Highfield Road being a match against Brian Clough's Forest. 2 nil to the Reds I think, so also have a soft spot for Coventry. Tough choice today.

I once stayed in Luton for two weeks so am happy to see them go up.

Also on my groundhops this year, I had I think it was Coventry:Rotherham tickets but the game got called off for ground issues and getting a refund was really difficult.
A week later I saw Coventry get absolutely thumped by Norwich so to see them in the promotion final was very ... interesting after their rough start to the year

well it seems your reasons for supporting Luton aregoing out the window as days after securing promotion they have now got rid of a raft of players including your American keeper, whilst Pelly Ruddock is in negotiations for a new contract. Does not seem like they want to see him go though!

It's a shame about Horvath. He was on loan from Forest, and I was hoping that helping Luton win promotion might entice them to make his deal permanent. That obviously won't happen now, but maybe he'll be sold to another Championship club so he can make a run at a third successive promotion to the Premier League.
