Before I get into one of my typical "instigator" posts (look up the word in the dictionary...you'll see my photo next to it)...
I want to be very clear that despite my words and actions Ian is a great friend and I love the I-Man. He's been to my home 3 times, has put up with me a lot (well and has had to be a passenger in a car with Phil and Jay), and I always think of him when there's a Florida hurricane (as that was his connecting flight back to the UK on one of his trips...Florida...while there was a hurricane).
Now that I have the pleasantries out of the way let's get down to business...
The I-Man has made the following query on the U2 "Meh Wall":
Has anyone, in the history of MSWL United, ever, been drawn against Alon in both cups at once? Both matches away from home? In the same session? Does this constitute a joke?
Well Ian, we're close with this U1 example from this season for Alon's Tranmere right:
Olmec does not want things to be too challenging for Alon (or perhaps wants to put him in a "okay Alon you never try to advance in the FA Cup so what will you do with this?" scenario)...
But I digest...
You are probably right Ian. Not only is it unfair that you have to play Alon twice in a tournament but BOTH matches are away.
Although, if we're being honest with ourselves (something I only do when its convenient for me)...
If you had not trotted out this stinker of a lineup in the 3rd AP Cup grou match, when you would have won your group with 9 points, you would have had the home advantage in the AP Cup match...
Obviously the FA Cup match is a punishment for something you did to offend the Olmec Head.
I would feel bad for your friend Old Rebuilding Outlaw Crocodile Tears Dave Dohm (he's smiling somewhere), however unfortunately his Dons were dismissed from the FA Cup (by a non-league team), the FA Shield (by Compo; and in fairness to Compo he actually does care about his U2 team), and the AP Cup (finished 3rd in their group).
Does anyone have other thoughts to help sooth Ian's conspiracy theory concerns?

It appears no one does. It's a confirmed conspiracy!
Arguably, it could have been worse, we could indeed have been drawn away against Wimbledon in both cups instead. But as Al rightly points out, Dave has been ejected from all cup competitions, including the Shield, in the 1st round this year...very unfortunate.

In Season 25, Boston played Shepshed not twice... not thrice... not quarce... not quince... but SENCE. That's six times, and yes, I looked up the last three of those.
3: AP Cup
10: FA Cup Round 2 (away for Boston!)
14: FA Cup Replay (took the tie home)
15: AP Cup Round 2 (same week, away for Boston!)
17: League match
38: League match
It certainly appears as if Boston won both of the knockout games while also being relegated in the league that year.
Wimbledon and Burton also played each other twice in back to back sessions in Season 10, being the only other two teams to face each other six times in a season: AP Cup group stage, AP Cup quarterfinals, League x2, and an FA Cup replay.
Wimbledon and York are the only other pair to play each other four times in cup games in a season (17) - and that didn't feature a replay!
Note my database does not include the most recent of seasons.

I love the stat research here from John! Thank you Mr. H!
I guess this is the EPILOGUE part?
Of course not mentioned here is the fact that my teams were 0-6 this session and the I-Man picked up a bunch of Auction all-stars...so to paraphrase "Don't Cry for the I-Man..."...

For those of you scoring at home, that's eight goals conceded without scoring a single one.

Please stop posting Al, you're just putting it back to the top of the list.

So not a good time then to say that I think "Maths" is not grammatically correct?

Sorry I missed these posts up till now. However was very surprised to see that Ian let me win both cup games.
I would have been happy with 1 when I saw the draw.

There's no shame in losing 4 times in a row to the eventual division 1 winner. Although Shephshed wouldn't have won it had we not defeated Wimbledon on the final day. Muhahahaha.
