In the original MSWL United, Ian's Preston North End has never won a trophy as evidenced by their "Team Awards - none" team page.
However, Ian has finished runner-up on 4 separate occasions.
So you can see its tradition for Ian NOT to win a trophy, which leads me to the point of this post.
I'm very concerned that Ian might win something in MSWL U2 this season.
Kendal Town is still in the Youth Cup...
Kendal Town is in the FA Shield Final...
Kendal Town is in first place in the 1st Division.
It is with deep regret and self-reflection that I must make a humble request:
PLEASE PLAY YOUR BEST LINEUPS AGAINST KENDAL TOWN. AND IF YOU CAN'T BEAT HIM, HOW ABOUT A 10 HARDNESS SETTING TO INJURE A PLAYER OR TWO?
It may seem like I'm a bad person for making this request. But you don't know Ian. We'll never hear the end of it if he wins something.
PLEASE MAKE YOUR PLEDGE TO KEEP THE TRADITION!

Spare us Al, you already know what is going to happen.
Kendal Town finish 2nd in the Youth Cup.
Kendal Town finish 2nd in the FA Shield.
Kendal Town finish 2nd in the 1st Division.
Move along, nothing to see here...

I'd be interested to know what has caused such deep-seated loathing ;)

Ian the FA Shield is a Mickey Mouse cup like the League Cup in football it has no meaning to win.. So Kendla can rest all there players against Chasetown in the final concentrate on the D1 title mate!!!

FA Shield... Youth Cup... I don't much care about them at the moment. I need all D1 teams to step forward and pledge to play their T11 against both Kendal and Burton Albion. We cannot let these two teams run away wtih the league title.

I would love to play T11 and hardness 10 against Kendal but my only chance is in the youth cup final (if I get there)

Wait... "2nd in the Youth Cup." So Ian is saying that Marine has no chance of winning our semifinal match this weekend? He's guaranteeing a victory for Kendal Town? That one is definitely going on the bulletin board for motivation this week as the youth get prepped for Marine's biggest United 2 match in team history.

Amendment: Kendal Town finish joint 3rd in the Youth Cup.

Shoot. Humility and pessimism aren't nearly as much fun to respond to. They don't suit you, Ian. Go back to "Kendal Town rules all and Sir Ian is lord high ruler over all he surveys." Reckless, non-sensible optimism and self-assurance. That's your ticket! It's a new year now, so maybe Olmec will get caught up in the pending Mayan apocalypse and forget about the small curse it has on you in order to focus on its part in the big curse that will doom us all?
