Hi all!
I see a lot of familiar faces from OASL but just wanted to introduce myself to those I haven't met on the virtual pitch yet (should have done so before Session 1 but holidays and a six month old didn't leave a lot of internet time :) ). To those of you I don't know, I'm Bryce Kalmbach and I've been playing in these online soccer leagues for a few years since originally joining to old ODFL after being introduced by my old high school classmate John Holden (hi John!). Since then I've played in SESL for a time, left for a while after ODFL became OASL and returned to the fold a couple years ago. In the real world I live in Seattle with my wife and daughter and work as a research scientist at the University of Washington Astronomy Department. I'm often outside hiking with the family or off trail running and love my hometown Seattle Sounders!

Bryce: Just to be clear that's a crocodile tears "Go Hawks" from Dave "van" Dohm who just (sadly) ran up the score 5-nil against Clevedon Town.... :-)

Actually that's a go Hawks from a Seahawk fan since the 80s lost in Illinois.

Haha, well I cheer for all the Seattle teams except the Hawks...I grew up a 49ers fan...

Bryce........you let me down.......how does a niners fan survive in Seattle?

Hello Bryce!
I'll let Bryce tell the story about the time my dad and I went for a walk around the University of Washington campus to kill some time the morning after my sister's wedding and Bryce randomly ran past us

Also of note, Bryce supports the wrong real life football club. Hard to blame him since he lives in Seattle, but Portland Timbers are clearly a better choice.

Bryce: Do you have John Holden stories you can tell us? Please? :-)

I thought his name was "Clambake" and I thought this was a great thing for the league. I could go for some seafood about right now.

Welcome Bryce from the East Coast. Glad to see we've got sea to shining sea covered in the league!

Al - John and I were very innocent high schoolers so unfortunately I don't have any crazy stories to tell. What he's been up to since then though, we can only speculate...
Phil - My brother's nickname was Clambake in high school but not because he liked seafood, it was the other definition of clambake...
Dave - It's years like this one where I get to wear my Niners hat around a few extra weeks and rub it in that sustain me.
