About 5 of you will get what this photo is.
C-Ball (over in the Auction comments) asked something like...
IV/11 - why do these types of players always get made the captain?
C-Ball said he goes for the II/13 type player knowing he will coach him up.
How do you pick your captain?

I go for the oldest player that is likely to play a lot of games with the Captain's bonus.

I figure out which of the older players are simply marineros and ignore those. Then I figure out which of the remaining players have a poca de gracia. Then of those I pick one, make him sing soy capitán, soy capitán in front of the entire squad, and then we go arriba and arriba

Oldest player likely to play almost every game... but only FW / DF. I don't think I'd ever make a MF captain.

I print the player cards and then I throw darts.
But seriously, I only make FW's Captain. Seems like a waist to do anything else (IMO).

When I joined the best advice I received (from Al I think) was to look at what Alon does. A quick check shows that Tranmere's captain is neither a IV/11 or a II/13 #justsaying #weereallgettingitwrong
PS: no idea what the photo is, but the guy in the green jacket looks vaguely familiar.

Generally i quite like using an old FW as Captain to boost him into a quality and useful Fw player for the season. So yes I tend to go with Age IV Fw´s. However I am not totally averse to making a Df Captain if the defence is looking very weak or possibly an age II as it does take a lot of CP to get an age IV fit. You also run a risk if an Age IV Captain gets a bad injury later in the season. That can be a real killer.

Try and win an age 4 in the opening two auctions and make him captain. Other than that my best age 3 player.

I love the Captain and Tenille, by the way. Nice one Al.

Captain Kangaroo! I know I saw this a little bit as a child, but not all that often.
