FINALLY I can post this...after 50 Seasons of MSWL United U1 Football...
-------------------------------
Steve's paid his dues
Time after time
Steve's done his sentence
But committed no crime
And bad mistakes‒
Steve's made a few
Steve's had his share of sand kicked in Steve's face
But Steve's come through
Steve is the champion, my friends
And Steve will keep on fighting 'til the end
Steve is the champion
Steve is the champion
No time for losers
'Cause Steve is the champion of the world
Steve's taken his bows
And his curtain calls
You brought Steve fame and fortune, and everything that goes with it
Steve thanks you all
But it's been no bed of roses
No pleasure cruise
Steve considers it a challenge before the whole human race
And Steve ain't gonna lose
Steve is the champion, my friends
And Steve will keep on fighting 'til the end
Steve is the champion
Steve is the champion
No time for losers
'Cause Steve is the champion of the world
Steve is the champion, my friends
And Steve will keep on fighting 'til the end
Steve is the champion
Steve is the champion
No time for losers
'Cause Steve is the champion

Congrats Steve....I hadn't realized you won ;)
The youth play is an interesting topic and key to long term/consistent success for sure. This is the first thing Al told me when I joined years ago. Don't ignore the youth as it will hurt you in the long run. How many youth you carry and max is key to longevity. Of course it is all reletive to the state of your team too (whther you are rebuilding or not). Several teams have different approaches that have had various degrees of sucess.

Al, I can picture you leading 80,000 people in a live rendition that song!

Thanks, Al (I think). Not sure where that photo is from- probably my wife's Facebook?
We had an incredible last 10 league games with 8 wins and a draw, including the double over Tranmere (the first win was a travesty) after playing junk against Bristol City. We didn't go top until the penultimate session but even then I thought Olmec would take itb away from me.
No I'm not the champion of the world.
It was a bit of a gamble not getting the APPs to 10 but worth it and hopefully won't hurt us too much.
It's only 31 seasons in U1 but I have played 40 in U2.
No,

Yes Steve this post was meant to be positive and with the best intentions to congratulate you. Well done! Yes, that was from your wife's FB photos...
Now, had my good friends Ian or Outlaw Dave won, the exact same lyrics would have been intended to be sarcasm...
...just to be clear...
Congratulations Steve!
Thanks Brian.
Also, I do want to highlight the post from my friend Crocodile Tears Dave as this post has:
- (probably) factual information about the youth movement
- a writing style that shows Dave to probably be human with (potentially and its a small percentage) empathy
Also, about 4 months ago Dave told me he had just brought home a Cassano's Pizza in Quincy. Which is basically taunting and Honest Dave knows that...

Now, who would believe I would taunt my good friend Al?

Many congrats Steve! It's a long time coming. The youth play is definitely intriguing. Al gave me the same message about playing youth that he gave Dave. But since joining up, I've wondered if it's necessary for long-term success to max out four APPs every season. Surely there's a sweet spot where you can maximize short-term results while also ensuring long-term success. It's something to keep an eye on.
