![]() | The Olmec Love Table Session 3 Posted by |
Well I think i might just use the table for my predictions now on as it was quite reliable in session 3! Preston were duly spanked 5-0 by Southend in the cup, where a draw would have been a far fairer result. At one end of the table Watford hammered Cardiff 8-1, whilst Sheffield at the bottom crashed to a home defeat, although ti be fair they were at least outplayed by Leeds. In the Shield Olmec again lived up to expectations with Tranmere coming a cropper at Lincoln. Brentford did manage to beat the trend by securing a draw against Northampton. I've adjusted the table below, but you can see the divergences are currently growing. Chesterfield are now topping the base table with Leeds, Watford, Northampton and Cardiff in tow at the top. At the bottom Olmec is now piling on the pain for Tranmere and Lewes, along with Sheffield. Oldham, Leicester and Swansea can all feel aggrieved too. Given Lewes and Tranmere are both still in the top 5 of the premier league, the rest of the premier league flight are probable happy Olmec is giving the rest of them a chance.
One can conclude from the Love Table that the AP quarter finalists will be Northampton, Watford, Chesterfield, Lincoln, Lewes, Leeds, Cardiff and PNE. Sorry Bill despite Crewe's improvement in the Love Table, Olmec will need to cripple Blanco and a couple of others from the PNE T11 and even Olmec is not that cruel.

I LOVE that photo!
Great work Vick!! A TOUR-DE-FORCE!
Although (and Steve, help me here), I don't think that's how you spell "Nottingham Forest"! :-)
Sad that this gives Dave Dohm a chance to whine more too. ;-)
Al

Whinning? Its just not my nature :) I will say that the loss to PV last week was a travesty though!

Knotty Wood! Ha ha. Notts sure what the numbers mean but ours are all negative which feels right.

Not only did we treasure our ultra-rare win vs TRA, we also got the phrase "coming a cropper" out of it. I had to look it up and will immediately start using it!

Not sure if you are into UK soaps, but the epitomy of cropper was a character called Roy Cropper in Coronation Street. I always had a soft spot for him. Yes the negatives are bad, In your case I reckon you have so far lost 3 match points over the season, compounded with an undeserved red card, but offset with one nice home cup draw giving Forest an adjusted -2 on the Olmec Love Table.
