As you know Mr. Simon Compton turns 60 soon.
Here's a birthday wish from Martyn...

Martyn |
Compo's 60? How many times is that then? It's the lucky ones that don't get an invite. Look up Mr Bean New Year on YouTube to see the sort of thing you're missing.

What did Compo Look like many years ago? |

The "current" 60 year old Compo... |
Here are some Compo Convention Photos...
|
I'm assuming this is Compo in the blue t-shirt?
But are those legal dice or are they weighted in some fashion? |
|
| So Martyn in front in the White shirt? Basically the same photo as his current one. |
|
Do you ever age Martyn? Maybe we need a BRB called "Martyn" where you can select one player who DOES NOT AGE...just like Martyn.
So in the above photo Compo who are the rest of the people?
When will I get my "Ten United Years" t-shirt. Is that in the mail?
Happy Birthday Compo!

It's me in white on the front row, Alan Parr [aka The Godfather] is holding the cup, the bearded man between and behind Alan and me is Ken O'Brien and the magnificently moustachioed man might be Mick Haytack who still runs his Open Management United league

I thought the bearded guy was Gary Piper , but I like the look of envy on your face Martyn thinking how did I blow that tournament ?, that has to be something like 1984 to 88?

If Compo has been playing since the 80s, why doesn't he win more trophies?

Happy 60th Birthday Simon! I had one of those lovely T-shirts, in green I think, with a slightly furry finish on the design. When I started playing United in Alan Parr's Hopscotch as, literally a schoolboy, to make deals you had to telephone or write to other managers. Simon, always a great trader, was one of the first of the list of coaches I spoke to. Alan's son is a friend from school. Alan also knew my uncle Rex Walford, who also played in the Hopscotch United league, and who had first triggered my interest in these games.

Yes, looks like Mick Haytack second from right, and Alan Parr, with cup, who still runs Hopscotch, where United all started - though the fottball game is now run by Mike Parnaby.
Happy birthday Simon!

Hopscotch is a zine I've heard of but never subbed. Mick Haytack is a name I remember but no idea if I ever played against him.
Did anyone here ever play Sopwith?

Are we all just going to gloss over Ian calling Compo out like that? Them's fightin' words!
