What ideas do you all have for a preview page upgrade? I'd like some candid feedback.
Is showing all the prior matches helpful?
Is showing all the "OLMEC HEAD PREVIEW" detail helpful (with prior season/text/history info)?
I'm good with the prior matchups (but maybe its a link to a pop up page). Same with the Olmec Head Preview but maybe reduce some info a little?
I'm sharing the TMVL preview page to generate ideas. Some of my ideas (which people usually hate) are:
- show last 3 (or X) matches area totals "Gk-Sw-Df-Mf-Fw".
- Show some specific stats
But really I don't have a lot of ideas here, so I'm open to them.
We COULD add an ELO ranking system (we have TWO rankings systems in TMVL) which could form a predictor for each match as you see in the example.
Please share your ideas. Thanks!

I love the Olmec Head Preview stuff. Often times I'll pick something out in there to use for comments. And I'll always look at the Cup history to see how the teams stack up.
I like the idea of having area total comparisons like we have in TMVL. I find that to be good fodder for comments. I wouldn't necessarily want to put the "last X matches" formations out there - that feels like a level of investigation that the manager should have to seek out. But maybe if we generalized the formation (almost everyone plays a 4-2-4, or just go with the T11 and however the positions break down, it breaks down).

I like the idea of having a full preview page.
I love stats so Al this works for me

I don't tend to read the previews in United but just glance at a the most recent results bullet at the end of all the data. In TMVL, I find the previews are a must read and, as Rob says, they are a great source for comments and banter. I particularly like the skills and ELO predictions, so would be happy to see something similar in United. I'd second everything else Rob suggests too.

Al,
I am all for more stats. I think an ELO ranking & prediction system would be a great addition. I like the idea of showing the T-11 for squads, regardless of the position breakdown (e.g. it might include two GK's, or four MF's, etc.)
I do agree with Rob that recent formations should not be used. That is something we should handle as managers.
