![]() | BRB Proposal - Fitness Coach Posted by |
Why?
This BRB gives you a different option to coach fitness into your players without the expense of using CPs
What does he do?
3 Players preseason are boosted by one fitness level
1 Player per session can be boosted by one fitness level.
Issues to consider
This could be a considerable saving in CP. If you use only on Age IV players, this could be a value of 40CP per season. (a coach for comparison is 30ish a season)
There is no real downside to this BRB, should there be?
Advantages/Disadvantages
This could create the possibility of the ever-present player at no CP cost. A player could effectively play 3 games a session, if we adopted the Dietician, you could have a high SL player playing in most games. Adds an interesting way to manage players fitness and appearances.
If BRBs are limited to 6, do you want one only dealing with fitness, which is temporary and could be wiped out with an injury against those looking at player development.
As above it is quite strong, perhaps it would be better to have only 3CP worth of fitness per session to allocate as you see fit, (9 preseason). Ditch the pre-season part?
Maybe if a player is selected for the fitness coach there could be a potential downside of a muscle strain through the extra work (downside added complexity)
Disadvantage (or advantage?) is that there will be more CP available to coach players.

Having the option to focus on FIt feels like a good new choice. Also really useful when one of your star players is recuperating at -3 or worse after a particularly bruising encounter with Blyth.
Possibly overpowered as proposed though? The existing Groundsman BRB gives you 2 extra levels for each home game, of which there might only be 9 in a season in which case you'd get a total bonus of just 18 levels per season. By comparison, just one extra Fit level in preseason for a single player who then takes part in two games each session equates to a 20 level uplift over the season.
I appreciate that could equally be read as a pitch to dump the Groundsman....

Well, Roger, think about that there would be more BRBs to choose from, and maybe some folks would choose to not use the Groundsman all the time, or maybe some folks won't use the Fitness Coach. Varienty is the spice of Olmec.

There could be ways to reduce things if it's thought to be too OP... perhaps it reduces the CP needed for FIT by 1 or 2, to a minimum of 1. That makes it so it can't be used on any Youth or Age I players at the least, and still costs *some* CP in order to use.
